James B. Griswold
Director; Chief Investment Officer
Jim Griswold is chief investment officer of Danville Partners. He assists Danville Partners' current portfolio companies grow by acquisition. He also sources and evaluates acquisition opportunities for Danville Partners, with a view toward expanding the firm's portfolio to several platforms in various industrial, manufacturing, assembly or distribution businesses.
Previously, Jim was a partner with the law firm of Baker & Hostetler LLP, where he worked for more than 30 years with entrepreneurs, family business owners, buyout firms, venture capitalists and high-net-worth individuals to build and/or acquire businesses of all kinds. His background includes extensive work in M&A, equity and debt financings and a wide range of business and legal issues related to private equity and closely held businesses. Jim has extensive investment experience in a variety of industries, including electronics, hotels, real estate, software and related products and services, chemicals, and numerous other manufacturing and industrial companies.
Jim serves on the board of directors of Keithley Instruments, Inc., a publicly held developer and manufacturer of electronic instruments. He is also on the boards of Flame Control, LLC, a specialty chemicals company, and Simplimatic Automation. In addition, he serves as an advisor to Evolution Partners LLC, a private equity firm.
In the Greater Cleveland community, Jim serves on the boards of trustees at University School, Hathaway Brown School and Vocational Guidance Services. He is a past president of the board at both University School and Vocational Guidance Services.
Jim is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Michigan Law School.
