Mark Baker

Mark Baker is an active private investor and serves as an advisor to several organizations, including Simplimatic Automation, Mercury Plastics, Parkside Care Corporation, BioSensory, North Shore Safety and The Reserve Group. He has been on both sides of the leveraged buyout business and is familiar with all aspects of leveraged private equity investing.
Mark has a thirty-year background in engineering and operations with emphasis on cost reduction, process and product streamlining. As a seasoned CEO, he has worked in and led public and privately held manufacturing companies, and has significant expertise in capital goods and industrial manufacturing companies.
Most recently, Mark was a corporate vice president and group executive of Idex Corporation, a billion-dollar technology leader in fluid handling, listed on the NYSE. Earlier with Idex, he served as president of the company's Lubriquip division while the company was taken through a series of private equity-led buyouts.
Mark Baker began his career at Warner & Swasey, a prominent manufacturer of machine tools, where he held a variety of positions, including plant manager.
He holds a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University and a master's degree in management from Case Western Reserve University.
